The Tennessee Williams Theatre, located in the Tennessee Williams Fine Arts Center on the campus of the Florida Keys Community College in Key West, is a modern, multi-use, full-service, professional rental venue available for performances, rehearsals, business or civic meetings, workshops, expos, or catered events.

PERFORMANCE SPACES: The Tennessee Williams Theatre complex offers three different performance spaces. The auditorium has a proscenium stage and seats 480 audience members. The grand foyer offers a flexible seating plan for up to 250 audience members. The outdoor performance space boasts a beautiful water view which can accommodate up to 2,500 audience members.

The auditorium stage is 48' wide. The height is variable, but usually plays between 18' and 20' high. The depth of the stage from the apron to the farthest upstage flyline is 29'. The stage floor is sprung pine covered with Masonite, which is an ideal surface for dancers, and we can provide a marley dance floor when required. The orchestra pit is motorized and can play at stage level or anywhere down to 8'7" below the stage. The wings have a generous 20' width. A Steinway concert grand piano is available for rent in the auditorium.

The grand foyer has a flexible design which can accommodate a stage up to a 20'x20'. This intimate space is ideal for small or medium size performances such as a recital, reading, or a cabaret show. Standard theatre seating accommodates up to 250 people, or opt for bistro seating with small tables and chairs. A Steinway baby grand piano is available for rent in the grand foyer.

The outdoor performance space provides an informal venue for large concerts or festivals. Easy parking, a water view, and extra space for vendors or booths makes this a unique outdoor venue for the Florida Keys. This space is comfortable for audiences between 500 and 2,500.

BACKSTAGE: The space has a counterweight fly system with 39 lines, four of which are designated as electrics. A 20'x 20' front projection screen and rear projection screen are available. Renters may choose from a black velour traveler or a cyc for basic rental requirements. In addition, we offer a white or black scrim, a red velour traveler, a mylar curtain, a gold sheer curtain, a blue turquoise iridescent curtain, a lace curtain, and a black sequin curtain.
